In the beginning…

Ever since God called us to start our first church plant in 1997, we had hoped to have a multi-generational family church in the greater Baltimore-Washington region. Thus far, though, going where God leads has meant planting a college church at Johns Hopkins University, a young adult church in downtown Baltimore, and a church home for creatives and artists in the midst of Baltimore’s Arts district.

In the summer of 2012, we were nearing the end of a year of Rest and Renewal. Pastor Roger had come off his Sabbatical, and we were asking God what was next. A group of us began to meet and pray about finally planting a church outside the city. God brought a core group together made up of some who had been with us for years and some who were brand new to us. Through prayer and study, God led us to Elkridge/Arbutus/Catonsville.

And so the adventure began…

We were so excited that God had finally called us to plant a church with the stability that comes with families and a wide range of ages and generations. We were equally excited to be in the Elkridge/Arbutus/Catonsville area of Greater Baltimore. We believed that God was calling us to do something new and different here. Not only did He want to grow us, stretch us, and teach us more about who He is, but more so, He wants the people of Elkridge/Arbutus/Catonsville to come to know Him in fresh ways.

It’s official…

We officially launched Grace Life Church in 2013 on Easter Sunday (March 31) with a celebration service at Elkridge Elementary School. Since then we have been growing and experiencing God’s amazing work and providence in big and small ways. We don’t know what the future holds, but we know that as God moves and leads us, we want to be a part of what He is doing.
